LISLE — After dropping their first 10 matches of the season, the Lady Hub bowlers locked down their second victory in three tries on Thursday, when Rochelle defeated the Lisle Lions by a score of 1,752-1,592 and improved to 2-11 overall.
Rochelle rallied in the match after Lisle claimed the first game 564-527 behind Brooke Kowalski’s 161. Sophomore Alyssa Mickley rolled 160 for the Lady Hubs in the opening game before shooting 170 and guiding Rochelle past the Lions 643-519 in the second game. Sophomore Alyssa Schwanert added 149 for the Lady Hubs in the middle game.
Rochelle sealed the victory with a 582-509 win in the third game behind Schwanert’s 145. Mickley finished with a match-best 456 series and Schwanert totaled 400. Vivian Cracco was the top bowler for Lisle with a 378 series.
Sterling MLK
The Lady Hubs competed in the Sterling MLK Tournament on Monday, knocking down 2,971 pins over six team games. Alyssa Schwanert shined for the Rochelle girls, rolling 425 in her first series before firing a 487 in her second series with a high score of 200. Senior Cassie Moore totaled a tournament score of 707 with a high game of 170.
Morris Invitational
Rochelle bowled at the Butterfield Invitational this past Saturday in Morris, with three Lady Hubs participating including Alyssa Mickley, who led the team with a 1,072 six-game series that included high scores of 194, 181, 182 and 189. Cassie Moore and Kiya Porter finished one pin apart from each other, with Moore rolling 742 and Porter recording 741.
