Girls Bowling: Rochelle wins season opener at Ottawa

Vincent rolls team-high 520 series in 2,204-2,151 victory

OTTAWA — The Rochelle Lady Hub varsity bowling team threw its first shots of the 2022-23 season on Tuesday, scoring a 2,204-2,151 road win over Ottawa in Interstate 8 Conference action. Sophomore Cassidy Vincent rolled a team-high 520 series for the Lady Hubs (1-0, 1-0 Interstate 8), who will host a conference match with Morris on Thursday at 4 p.m.

The Pirates took a slim lead early in the match, winning the first game 778-760 behind 167 from Ana Zeglis. Vincent led Rochelle with a series-best 205 score before firing a 167 in the second game, which the Lady Hubs claimed 742-723 to sneak ahead of Ottawa with a one-pin advantage entering the third game. 

Rochelle delivered in the third game, defeating the Pirates 702-650 to claim the series victory. Freshman Kylie McCullough bowled scores of 162 and 136 over her final two games to finish with a 418 series, while junior Faith Adams recorded a 380 series with individual scores of 127, 132 and 121 on Tuesday. Zeglis led Ottawa with a 442 series score.
