Girls Bowling: Vincent shines as Lady Hubs defeat Kaneland

Rochelle sophomore rolls team-high 685 series in 2,654-2,500 victory

ROCHELLE — Sophomore Cassidy Vincent fired a team-leading 685 series to lead the Rochelle Lady Hub varsity bowlers during their Interstate 8 Conference home match against Kaneland on Tuesday. Freshman Kylie McCullough added a 478 series for the Lady Hubs (9-6, 6-3 Interstate 8), who took two of the three games and defeated the Knights 2,654-2,500.

Rochelle took a commanding series lead in the first game, where the Lady Hubs dominated Kaneland 938-775 behind Vincent’s series-best 245 and McCullough’s series-best 181. Junior Anahi Alanis rolled a series-best 162 and junior Faith Adams added a 142 on the Rochelle side.

The Knights rallied to take the second game from the Lady Hubs, winning 923-879 despite Vincent shooting a 231 and McCullough throwing a 160. Preslee Sutherland led Kaneland with a 202 after rolling a 201 during the first game, while Winnie Phillips followed with a 192.  

Rochelle edged the Knights 837-802 in the third game to clinch the conference victory. Vincent closed out her series with a 209, while junior Makenzie Liezert scored a series-best 169 to finish with a 439 series. Alanis and Adams ended with respective series scores of 418 and 402. The Lady Hubs will close out the conference schedule at LaSalle-Peru on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
