Girls Got God event scheduled for this weekend

ROCHELLE — All Rochelle area middle school and high school girls are welcome to this weekend’s event, “Girls Got God,” with First General Baptist Church.
The event starts with a bonfire on Friday, Sept. 29 at 728 N. Main St. in Rochelle from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and continues on Sat., Sept. 30 at Lowden Campground Blackhawk Shelter from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The campground is located at 1411 N. River Rd., Oregon.
There will be games, devotions, and fellowship during both days with Brianna Caprice as the special guest.
Organizer Deborah Wooten is encouraging girls to bring a friend.

“One girl will be picked for a $50 gift card for bringing friends who have never attended GGG and attend the full weekend,” Wooten said. “Our goal is taking God’s Word and teaching girls how to apply it to their lives. Our motto, Romans 8:31, ‘If God is for us who could ever be against us’.”
All of those attending need a signed permission slip, along with the $10 fee.
“Brianna will be singing and interacting with the girls on Friday and Saturday,” Wooten added. “Come spend some time with women who will encourage you, support you, and make new friends.”
The event is open to all middle school and high school aged girls even if they do not attend First General Baptist Church. Please contact Deborah Wooten at 815-608-6729 or email debwoo10@yahoo.com.
