The Rochelle varsity girls soccer team played its final road game of the regular season this past Thursday. The Lady Hubs faced Sterling, with sophomore Ayah Sbeih scoring Rochelle’s lone goal in the team’s 6-1 loss against the Golden Warriors. Rochelle dropped to 2-12-12 on the season. Junior Viviana Belmonte totaled 10 saves for the Lady Hubs.

STERLING — The Rochelle varsity girls soccer team played its final road game of the regular season this past Thursday. The Lady Hubs faced Sterling, with sophomore Ayah Sbeih scoring Rochelle’s lone goal in the team’s 6-1 loss against the Golden Warriors. Rochelle dropped to 2-12-12 on the season. Junior Viviana Belmonte totaled 10 saves for the Lady Hubs.
Sterling went ahead 2-0 after goals in the second minute and the 11th minute. The Golden Warriors led 3-0 at halftime, and Sterling increased its lead with another goal in the 64th minute before Sbeih put the Lady Hubs on the board with her unassisted play in the 72nd minute. The Golden Warriors, who topped Rochelle 16-12 in shots on goal, also scored in the 72nd minute to maintain their advantage.
