ROCHELLE — The Rochelle varsity girls tennis team played host to Sycamore on Thursday, with the Lady Hubs falling by a score of 5-0 to drop to 0-4 on the season. Rochelle will play at Dixon on Monday before traveling to LaSalle-Peru on Tuesday.
Junior Ruth Gardner was shut out in a 0-6, 0-6 loss against Sycamore’s Lizzie Egerman at No. 1 singles, while junior Caitlin McMurray was also dropped in an 0-6, 0-6 loss to Abby Krull at No. 2 singles. Seniors Jasmine Rissman and Ashlynn Leininger took three games in their 2-6, 1-6 loss against Sycamore’s Maddie Weaver and Maggie McConnaughay at No. 1 doubles.
Senior Lila Roush and sophomore Melanie Gonzalez won one game in their 0-6, 1-6 loss to Sycamore’s Emily Grayburn and Emma Keicher at No. 2 doubles while freshmen Josie Lundquist and MeLisa Young earned two games in their 0-6, 2-6 loss to Clare Regelbrugge and Alyssa Cooley at No. 3 doubles.
Rochelle’s junior varsity team lost 5-0 to Sycamore on Thursday. Sawyer McGee fell 0-6, 0-6 at No. 2 singles while Mindy Pelayo was forced to withdraw at No. 1 singles. Jordin Dickey and Emma Hicks took three games in a 2-6, 1-6 loss at No. 1 doubles.
Riley Flanagan and Yoana Fulgencio fell 0-6, 0-6 at No. 2 doubles while Hailey Miller and Ella Seebach won one game in a 1-6, 0-6 loss at No. 3 doubles.
