ROCHELLE — The Rochelle girls tennis team saw its losing streak rise to a season-high 10 matches on Tuesday, when the Lady Hubs fell by a score of 5-0 against Morris. Rochelle dropped to 2-10 overall with the loss.
Senior Ruth Gardner played a close first set against Libby Wright at No. 1 singles, falling 6-7, 1-6. Junior Anna Guevara hung tough with Maegan Warcynski at No. 2 singles, losing 4-6, 4-6. Sophomores Jordin Dickey and MeLisa Young fell 0-6, 2-6 against Kyle Kjellesvik and Grace Lines at No. 1 doubles.
Junior Sawyer McGee and sophomore Emma Hicks split the first two sets with Sophie Menenga and Sophie Pfaff at No. 2 doubles, falling 7-6, 6-7, 5-10. Senior Caitlin McMurray and junior Melanie Gonzalez came close in the first set with Darcy Ancel and Maddy Hughes at No. 3 doubles, losing 6-7, 0-6.
