Pirates shut out Lady Hubs 5-0 on Tuesday

OTTAWA — The Rochelle Lady Hub varsity volleyball team conceded a 5-0 shutout loss against Ottawa during Interstate 8 Conference action Tuesday evening. Rochelle (2-5, 0-3 Interstate 8) will remain on the road with a nonconference match against Sterling on Wednesday.

Senior Elin Zheng claimed one game in a 1-6, 0-6 loss against Layne Krug at No. 1 singles, while senior Kara Martinez fell 0-6, 0-6 against Mika Moreland at No. 2 singles. Juniors Riley Doyle and Kitty Williams conceded a 0-6, 0-6 loss to Emma Cushing and Rylee O'Fallon at No. 1 doubles.

Seniors Macenzie Glosser and Annaleigh McKinney took three games in their 2-6, 1-6 loss against Makenzie Eichelkraut and Maura Condon at No. 2 doubles, while seniors Allie Dickey and Adamaris Betancourt earned two game victories in their 2-6, 0-6 loss to Peyton Bryson and Zulee Moreland at No. 3 doubles.
