OREGON — The Rochelle varsity girls track and field team brought home a well-earned trophy from Oregon High School on Thursday. The Lady Hubs took third out of 11 schools in the Landers-Loomis Invitational, scoring 99 points.
Rochelle placed fourth in the 3200-meter relay with a time of 12:33.29 and third in the 400-meter relay with a time of 53.65 seconds. Senior Katherine Bakken won the 3200-meter run with a time of 12:07.01 and senior Abby Tilton took second in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 17.44. Junior Macey Ryan finished second in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.53.
Katherine Bakken took second in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:38.37 and Rochelle’s 800-meter relay team placed fourth with a time of 1:56.98. Macey Ryan and freshman Teagan Meyers earned the top two spots in the 400-meter dash with times of 1:04.87 and 1:05.45. Abby Tilton took fourth in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 53.69 and Bakken placed second in the 1600-meter run with a time of 5:55.71.
Macey Ryan won the 200-meter dash with a time of 28.16 and Rochelle’s 1600-meter relay team placed fourth with a time of 4:36.13. Sophomore Afi Gati finished fifth in the shot put with a mark of 31-6 ½.
