Girls Track: Lady Hubs place third at Woodstock Invitational

Bakken wins 3200-meter run as Rochelle records second straight top-3 meet finish

WOODSTOCK — The Rochelle varsity girls track and field team earned its second consecutive third-place finish of the season this past Friday. The Lady Hubs scored 62 points to finish third out of 11 schools in the Woodstock Invitational.

Freshman Liberty Hayes placed seventh in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.74 seconds and finished fourth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 28.98 seconds. Senior Camryn Turner took eighth in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:47.46.

Senior Katherine Bakken won the 3200-meter run with a time of 11:38.35 and placed third in the 1600-meter run with a time of 5:37.83. Senior Cheyene Watson finished ninth in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 19.43.

Rochelle’s 1600-meter relay team (Macey Ryan, Grace Garcia, Abby Tilton and Teagan Meyers) placed second with a time of 4:19.89. The Lady Hubs took third in the 800-meter relay (Liberty Hayes, Abby Tilton, Teagan Meyers and Macey Ryan) with a time of 1:51.89 and fifth in the 400-meter relay (Liberty Hayes, Abby Tilton, Angie Saldana and Macey Ryan) with a time of 53.21.

Junior Gabrielle Harding (32-8 ¼) and sophomore Afi Gati (32-2 ½) finished third and fourth in the shot put. Harding placed third in the discus with a mark of 106-9 and freshman Teagan Meyers took third in the high jump with a clearance of 4-8. Senior Abby Tilton finished eighth in the long jump with a mark of 14-8 ½ and junior Maddie Ohlinger placed fifth in the triple jump with a mark of 31-5 ½.
