Girls Track: Rochelle takes fourth at Sycamore Invitational

Junior varsity team places third in opening indoor meet

SYCAMORE — The Rochelle girls track and field team competed in its first indoor meet of the season on Tuesday.

Varsity

The Lady Hubs took fourth place out of nine schools with 55 points at the varsity level. Macey Ryan finished fourth in the 55-meter dash (8.08 seconds) and fifth in the 200-meter dash (30.15), while Grace Garcia (1:11.44) and Abby Tilton (1:12.33) placed third and fourth in the 400-meter dash, respectively. Katherine Bakken took second in the 1600-meter run (5:44.85) and Britney Baez finished third in the 3200-meter run (13:53.83).

Camryn Turner placed fifth in the 800-meter run (2:53.90) and third in the triple jump with a leap of 27-6. Afi Gati and Gabrielle Harding took third and fourth in the shot put with marks of 32-4 ½ and 30-7 ½, respectively. Rochelle’s 640-meter relay team of Ryan, Kylee Brown, Teagan Meyers and Tilton placed fourth with a time of 1:36.02.

Junior Varsity

The Lady Hubs finished third out of eight schools at the junior varsity level with 61 points. Liberty Hayes won the 200-meter dash with a time of 30.49, and Cheyene Watson (11.23) won the 55-meter hurdles. Teagan Meyers won the high jump with a clearance of 4-6 while placing third in the triple jump (25-11 ½).
