Metzger shoots team-low 80 to take 20th overall

ROCKFORD — Sophomore Ian Metzger fired an 18-hole round of 80 to take 20th overall and lead the Rochelle Hub varsity golf team to 12th place in the Brad Fowler Invitational at Aldeen Golf Club on Saturday. Freshman Alex Dyer followed with an 85 and two players including senior Obie Nava and freshman Owen Carmichael carded 100 in the tournament.

Seniors Chandler Cunningham recorded a 105 for the Hubs (1-7, 0-3 Interstate 8), who will host a nonconference match against DeKalb on Wednesday at Fairways Golf Course before traveling for the ACC Charger Invitational at Phillips Park on Saturday.
