ROCHELLE — Junior Noah Griffith took down Geneseo senior Ethan Pullman on Tuesday to run his win streak to five matches in singles play during Rochelle's 4-1 loss to the Maple Leafs.
Junior Kevin Zheng fell 2-6, 0-6 to Geneseo senior Dylan Hodge, and the Maple Leafs took all three doubles match, with seniors A.J. Miller and Will Chaney beating Rochelle sophomores Juan Montemayor and Hector Garcia 6-1, 6-1. Freshman Ben Hickey and junior Jesus Nava lost 0-6, 0-6 to Geneseo senior Avery Dunker and junior Mick Haverland, while juniors Ozzy Fulgencio and Tyler Nalley lost in No. 3 doubles to Maple Leaf senior Tristan DeSplinter and junior Dylan Hart.
Frosh/Soph
The Hubs freshman-sophomore team lost 5-0 to Geneseo, with sophomore Emilio Nava and freshman Max Torres falling in singles play by respective scores of 5-10 and 3-10. Freshmen Luis Vasquez and Alexis Quintanilla came close in doubles, losing 5-10 to sophomores Josh Beeth and Luke Chaney.
