ROCHELLE — It is with a sad heart that we announce the death of Harold A.C. Miller, 83, on Wednesday, Oct. 13 at his home in Hillcrest.  

Harold was born on April 27, 1938, the son of James H. W. and Mabel (Otty) Miller in Castleton on Hudson, New York. On June 12, 1959, he married Deloris Jean Coil in Oregon, who preceded him in death on May 24, 1998.  In addition to his wife and parents, he was also predeceased by his daughter, Donna D. Miller on May 12, 2013; two granddaughters: Natasha Miller and Nicole Miller and grandson, Jason Parks.

Harold was a patrolman with the Rochelle Police Department from 1964-1969. He then went on to work at Piggly Wiggly/Eagles Supermarket in Rochelle for 34 years.

Harold is survived by his daughter, Madelyn Parks of Franklin Grove; son, Michael (Tammy) Miller of Rochelle; grandson, Anthony Parks and family of Franklin Grove; two granddaughters: Joshalyn Reese and family of Aurora and Amanda Miller and family of Centralia.

Visitation will be from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 17 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 18 at the funeral home with Pastor Katherine Paisley officiating.  Burial will follow the service at Lawnridge Cemetery in Rochelle.
