ROCHELLE — Helen M. Pulliam, 97, passed away peacefully Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Serenity Hospice and Home in Oregon. Helen was born on April 20, 1920 to Joseph and Hattie (Bolhous) Harms in Kings. She married Ray A. Pulliam in 1986 in Leesburg, Fla.; he preceded her in death August of 2006.
She is also predeceased by her three brothers, William H., William A., Gerald and sister, Berneice Slaughter.
Helen was an excellent golfer, having made three holes-in-one. She was very artistic and loved painting, making afghans, and producing other handmade crafts. Helen traveled extensively all over the world. She was an excellent baker and cook who was known for her pies and fried chicken.
Helen is survived by her two sons, Terry (Cindy) Petry of Rochelle, and Larry (Linda) Petry of Belvidere; six grandchildren, Teresa Petry, Erik Petry, Michelle (Stephen) Van Stone, Aaron (Kaytee) Petry, Ryan (Brooke) Petry and Sharro (Jayson) Arnett; and 10 great-granddaughters.
Cremation care is being handled by the Unger-Horner Funeral Home. A private memorial service and graveside service will be held at a later date.
