Local retailer accepting suggestions from the public

EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – Stock+Field is changing its name and needs your help. The new ownership group – the R.P. Acquisition Corporation - is planning for the future of the brand and wants to hear from each community they will serve.

They have invited the public to submit suggestions for a new store name via www.StockAndField.com/ItsYourStore through June 18 with the intention of announcing the new name the first week of July.

The R.P. Acquisition Corporation – a wholly owned subsidiary of R.P. Lumber Co., Inc. - purchased the Stock+Field assets out of bankruptcy court in April 2021 and is currently in the process of reopening 22 locations in Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, and Wisconsin.

“We will continue to offer the brands that farm families and outdoor recreational enthusiasts find essential,” Jason Plummer, vice president of the R.P. Acquisition Corporation, said. “We also want to involve our customers in the process of defining our new identity. Their voices are important, and we want them to know we are listening,” Plummer continued.

Stock+Field was founded in Watseka, Illinois in 1964 as Big R Stores.

Based in Edwardsville, R.P. Lumber Co., Inc. is a family-owned retailer that operates 72 full-service hardware and building material stores throughout Illinois, Missouri, Wyoming, and Iowa.

Currently open in Watseka and Morris, Illinois and Crawfordsville, Warsaw, and Michigan City, Indiana, Stock+Field is hiring at most of its 22 locations, which should all be open by early-July. News and information about opening dates and career opportunities can be found at www.StockAndField.com.
