ROCHELLE — Thanks to the Rochelle Area Community Foundation, members of the community will have the opportunity to enjoy some time at the pool this summer.
RACF president Cal Jacobs and member Tim Hayden presented a check to Roger Bunger, executive director of the Flagg-Rochelle Community Park District Friday morning. The funds were awarded as part of the foundation’s grant process this year. The park district applied for a grant from RACF for funds to be used for pool passes for families that might not otherwise be able to afford them.
“Anything we can do to enhance the community is helpful,” said Jacobs. “This is a great way to do it.”
This year’s swimming season officially opens on Thursday, June 1. Pool hours are Monday through Thursday from 12:30 to 5:30, Friday 12:30 to 7 p.m., and Saturday from 12:30 to 4:30. Adult swim is from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
Price is $6 per person and a season family pass is $180.
