ROCHELLE — The administration team at Rochelle Community Hospital decided to forgo the traditional gift exchange this past holiday season, instead donating to a local organization whose mission is to help others in need.
Mark Batty, Chief Executive Officer, presented Autumn True, Rochelle Rescue Mission Executive Director a check for $530, which included a donation from the hospital.
“This is what makes this town so special. We are there for one another; lending that helping hand whenever needed,” said Autumn True, Rochelle Rescue Mission Executive Director. “Thank you, Mr. Batty, and the Rochelle Community Hospital for these donations that are helping us build a beacon of hope here in the town of Rochelle. I also want to thank our fundraising committee for working so hard to keep the mission up and running. God Bless.”
The hospital also made a $500 donation to the mission last November.
The mission of the homeless shelter is “to help people find their way home physically and spiritually by providing temporary housing assistance while connecting them with more permanent resources.”
Volunteer opportunities are available. For more information, contact the mission at 815-561-2731 to schedule a time for the training process.
