KINGS — Henry Bunger, 64, passed away Monday, March 13, 2017 in Rockford. Henry was born May 13, 1952 in Rochelle to Edwin and Vivian (Ulferts) Bunger. He married Linda Mae Wolff on July 27, 1974 in Rochelle.
He worked for the Rochelle Elementary School District #231 for many years and the Rochelle Township High School for several years. Henry had a passion for gardening and fishing. He also enjoyed playing cards and spending as much time as possible with his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Bunger.
Henry is survived by his wife, Linda, of Kings; three children, Henry (Cheryl) Bunger, Jr., of Rochelle, Melinda (Jason) Pourchot of South Beloit, and Michelle (Jerry) Hinkle of Milledgeville; two brothers, Wayne (Ruth) Bunger of Rochelle and Robert Bunger of Darien, Wis.; sister, Judy Arjes of Rochelle; sister-in-law, Dorothy Bunger of Rochelle; eight grandchildren, Hailey and Lucas Bunger, Ashley (Ryan) Dowty, Cheyenne Pourchot, Kyle, Mikkayla, Caleb and Rhylee Hinkle; and one great-granddaughter, Abbigail Cammuca.
The visitation will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, March 19 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th Street, Rochelle. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 20 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 1415 10th Avenue, Rochelle, with Pastor Gregory Hoffmann officiating. Burial will follow the service at Lawnridge Cemetery in Rochelle.
