EVENING SHADE, Ark. — Hershel W. Kirk, of Evening Shade, Ark., left his earthly binds for everlasting life surrounded by his loving family. He was the oldest son to Royce Cleveland Kirk and Lillian Fair and born in Bayou Meto, Ark.
Hershel was a long time member of the Church of God in Cave City, Ark., and a member of the Full Gospel Fellowship in Rochelle.
Hershel was employed as a carpenter for many years in the Rochelle area before moving to Evening Shade in 1995.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Dana Kay Kirk; one brother, Gary Kirk; two sisters, Joan Teasley and Peggy Begley; and one grandson, Jonathon Kirk.
Survivors include his loving wife of 56 years, Sondra Kirk; four sons, David Kirk of Rochelle, Dale Kirk of Locust Grove, Ark., Jamie Kirk of Cave City, Ark., and Jerod Kirk of Evening Shade, Ark.; two daughters, Traci Kirk and Missi Kirk of Cave City, Ark.; two sisters, Wanda Boggs of Sandwich, and Donna Knighton of Myrtle, Miss.; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Our family prayer: In Jesus name, receive back the blessing you bestowed upon us, his loving family, and hold us strong in the days to come that we may not grieve, but rejoice in the promise of everlasting life in heaven. Amen.
