ROCHELLE — Area firefighters were on the scene of a grass fire north of Rochelle just off Grist Mill Road on Wednesday afternoon.
High winds made raised the wild fire risk in the area, especially with the dry winter experienced in the region.

More than 1,500 area residents living on the north side of Rochelle were also affected for a few hours on Wednesday when winds caused a power outage.
Power was restored shortly before 4 p.m.
