HILLCREST — Hillcrest trustees will open bids for the $180,000 water generator project early next month. Baxter & Woodman Engineering updated trustees on the generator replacement project and grant funding for sewer work in the village during Wednesday’s board meeting.

Bids for the water generator project will be opened on Feb. 4. The new generator will replace the current generator and it will power both the village hall (in case of emergency) and the village water system. The project will be funded partially with $75,000 in grant money from the state. Installation of the new generator will begin this summer, according to Baxter & Woodman.

Hillcrest trustees announced that seal coat work on the north side of the village, including Windover Park, will take place this year. The village will use $44,000 in motor fuel tax revenue to fund the seal coat work. Trustees also said a public hearing will be held before the February board meeting regarding the annexation of property for a 228-acre solar farming project.
