OGLE COUNTY — A Hillcrest man was transported to Rochelle Community Hospital following a one-vehicle roll over accident on I-39 Sunday.
Ogle County Deputies responded to a one vehicle roll over on I-39 south of Lindenwood Road where it was determined that a 1999 Chevy Lumina driven by Paul L. Martinez, 30, of Hillcrest, was traveling north on I-39 at a high rate of speed, struck a bridge barrier wall, lost control and traveled into the median where the vehicle rolled several times coming to rest in the south bound lanes.
Martinez was transported to Rochelle Community Hospital by Lynn-Scott-Rock Ambulance.
Deputies arrested Martinez for driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while license suspended. Martinez was released on a $3,000 I-Bond and will appear in court on Sept. 8.
Deputies were assisted at the scene by Illinois State Police and the Lynn-Scott-Rock Fire Department. The accident remains under investigation.
