HILLCREST — Hillcrest officials will be cracking down on illegal parking on lawns throughout the village. In his report, trustee Tim Ball also discussed an option to begin a neighborhood watch program, although no motion was made.
Hillcrest residents should expect pothole repairs to begin next week on several streets within the village.
Trustee Jason Fore said along with the repairs, village employees are scheduled to install signs and speed bumps in the next couple of weeks. Fore also said the Illinois Dept. of Transportation notified him of the resurfacing work scheduled for IL Route 251 in the village limits sometime this year. No date was mentioned.

Trustees approved a new policy dealing with payroll deductions and IMRF contributions. The amount deducted for IMRF is to be calculated first, with any other pretax items calculated after.
With ongoing issues regarding one of the village’s maintenance trucks, the village will be pursuing bids from local dealerships for a utility vehicle, or UTV. Trustees discussed possible options of either a purchase or a lease program. No decision was made during Wednesday evening’s meeting.
A budget meeting is expected to be scheduled for sometime in May.
