Family:

I am married to Kim. We have a blended family of eight children, their spouses and seven grandchildren.

How long have you been a resident of Hillcrest?
We have lived in Hillcrest for 18 years.

Career background:
I worked 40 years as a carpenter. Ten of those years were as a self-employed contractor. I served 22 years in the Illinois National Guard. I am currently employed with Maplehurst Farms in Lindenwood.

Other current or previous public service positions held:
I am currently a village trustee in Hillcrest and held the position for eight years.

Why do you want to serve on the village board?
I want to serve as a voice for the residents of Hillcrest and Windover Park Subdivision. I take pride in serving as a trustee for the Village of Hillcrest.

What is the strongest asset you would bring as a trustee if elected?
I believe my strongest asset as trustee has been overseeing the financial expenditures and obligations that we have as a village; being responsible for the distribution of village funds. I also am supportive of the village employees.

What is your position with water and sewer improvement issues and costs that the village has dealt with for several years?
The water is currently our number one issue. I believe we should look into the possibility of tying into Rochelle’s water system for emergency use as opposed to an additional water tower. In regard to the sewer improvements, we have finished phase one and are surveying a possible phase two for the commercial properties in Hillcrest.

If elected, what do you plan to focus on accomplishing in your 4-year term in order of importance?
If elected, I would like to see Hillcrest hire a property maintenance inspector. That person would enforce ordinances which will in turn maintain property value and keep our village clean. I also want to keep our streets maintained year round.

Why should residents vote for you?
The residents of Hillcrest should vote for me because I take pride in my community. My wife and I chose to make Hillcrest our home and raise our family here. I want to see Hillcrest continue to be a safe, clean community for families living here now and those who may live here in the future.
