ROCHELLE — More than 70 people attended a champagne brunch hosted by the Flagg Township Historical Society March 31.
The brunch at Salt 251 featured a silent auction and an original performance, “From Hickory Nuts to Salt,” by Vince Carney Community Theater. VCCT member Dianne Jenner wrote the program which featured “ghosts” from the past telling about their lives.
Upcoming events at the museum include a look inside the iron fountain on May 4. Guests will can watch museum board member Steve Frank turn on the fountain for the summer.
Also starting in May there will be walking tours as part of the Second Friday events in downtown Rochelle. Three different tours will be conducted this summer: Rochelle then and now, historic homes, and major fires in the downtown area.
