ROCHELLE — The Flagg Township Museum’s summer walking tours kick off this Friday, May 10.
The tours are part of the Second Friday events in downtown Rochelle.
This year three different topics of interest will be offered.
Terry Dickow will talk about Rochelle history, Tom McDermott will discuss major fires in the downtown area, and Steve Frank will focus on homes.
Dickow will lead walks this Friday and again in October. McDermott will highlight hotspots in June and August. Frank will tell about homes on the July and September walks.
All three tour guides are members of the historical society board.
Walks begin at 5:30 p.m. in front of the Flagg Township Museum, Sixth Street and Fourth Avenue, in downtown Rochelle.
There is no charge for going on a walk, but a donation hat will be passed at the end, with all funds going to the museum.
