YORKVILLE — The Hubs varsity bowling team fell to the Yorkville Foxes on Thursday, losing in a three-game sweep by a final score of 3,658-3,065. Rochelle drops to 1-5 on the season with the defeat.
Yorkville defeated the Hubs by 210 pins in the first game (1,240-1,030) behind 263 from Michael Nape Jr. and 255 from Caden Fairless. Junior Brady Shank rolled 232 and junior Tyler Johnson added 200 to lead Rochelle in the opening game.
The Foxes continued to push Rochelle with a 1,242-1,035 win in the second game, extending their lead to 417 pins. Nape Jr.’s 254 and Dante Gashi’s 245 propelled Yorkville, while Johnson’s 195 and senior Mark Bratko’s 191 headlined Rochelle’s effort in the middle game.
Zack Bianchi totaled 235 to lead Yorkville in a 1,176-1,000 victory during the third and final game. Gashi added 221 to finish with a 690 series, with Nape Jr. bowling 216 to record a match-high 733 series. Junior Dallas Driver rolled 203 for the Hubs, while Shank ended the evening with Rochelle’s high series of 581.
