ROCHELLE — The Hubs varsity bowling team honored its seniors on Tuesday, with Rochelle taking on the Ottawa Pirates for its final match of the regular season. Mark Bratko, Tyler Nalley and Osvaldo Fulgencio were each introduced before the match, and the boys each received gifts from the team before receiving a round of applause from the home fans.
Ottawa won the match by a score of 3,468-3,162 to drop Rochelle’s overall record to 4-11. The Pirates took the first game 1,150-1,048 behind 245 from Josh Norsen and 212 from Issac Jung. Junior Tyler Johnson led the Hubs with 194 while junior Brady Shank added 183.
Rochelle dropped the second game 1,151-1,044, with junior Dallas Driver tossing the first of two 216 games and Johnson adding 213. Kenny Parise’s 247 anchored Ottawa in the second game.
The Pirates closed out Tuesday’s match with a 1,167-1,070 win in the final game. Shank threw 224 for Rochelle, while Driver’s second 216 was part of a team-high 612 series. Bernie Pallara tossed 223 for Ottawa, while Parise bowled 210 for a 663 series and Norsen totaled 221 for a 662 series.
