OTTAWA — The Hubs varsity bowling team dropped a conference match to the Ottawa Pirates on Thursday, falling by a score of 3,518-3,266. The loss bumps Rochelle down to 2-6 on the season.
Ottawa defeated Rochelle 1,134-1,051 in the first game behind 216 from both Josh Norsen and Bernie Pullarn. Junior Dallas Driver rolled a game-high 222 and junior Brady Shank added 209 to lead the Hubs in the opening game.
Sophomore Logan Ortega bowled his best score of the night in the second game, shooting 223 to lead Rochelle in a 1,192-1,127 loss to Ottawa. Junior Tyler Johnson chipped in 206 for the Hubs, while Brandan Lerette (244) and Adam Gallion (214) spearheaded the charge for the Pirates.
Ottawa ended the match with a 1,192-1,088 win in the third and final game. Issac Jung’s 233 and Kenny Parise’s 227 lead the way for the Pirates, while Johnson’s 223 and Driver’s 220 topped the Rochelle scoreboard. Johnson finished with Rochelle’s high match series of 613, and Driver ended the night one pin behind with 612. Shank added 593 for the Hubs.
