GENESEO — Senior Tyler Nalley gave the Rochelle varsity golf team a boost when the Hubs traveled to Geneseo on Tuesday for a Northern Illinois Big 12 Conference match with the Maple Leafs.
Nalley finished with Rochelle’s fourth-best score of 52, but the Maple Leafs took the Hubs down in the end, shooting a 167 to Rochelle’s 183. Senior Garrett Glosser eagled on his first hole en route to a team-low score of 42, while senior Noah Griffith scored a 43 to pace the Rochelle varsity team.
Freshman Megan Thiravong’s 46 rounded out the top four Hub scores on Tuesday. Rochelle drops to 3-5 overall and 0-1-1 in conference play with the loss. The Hubs junior varsity golf team fell to the Maple Leafs as well, with freshman Sam Hacaga (56) leading Rochelle (241) against Geneseo (184).
