ROCHELLE — After taking two out of their three games against the Geneseo Maple Leafs this past week, the Hubs sophomore baseball team hit the 10-win on Saturday with a 10-0 victory over the Mendota Trojans.
Louie Mancinas took the ball to start the game, firing three innings while striking out five batters and yielding zero runs. Noah Knight and Mason DeLille pitched in relief, and the two boys combined for two scoreless innings and zero hits allowed.
Anthony Hueramo and Zack Bernardin each totaled two hits at the top of the order, with Bernardin driving in one run and teammate Cody Johnson going 2-for-3 with one RBI. Mancinas and Brady Shank each recorded one RBI as well, while Brandon Johnson singled and plated a team-high two RBIs.
The victory improves the sophomore team’s record to 10-5-1 overall, and the boys will start a three-game set with LaSalle-Peru on Tuesday.
