Hub senior tennis standout Noah Griffith rolled in his singles match on Wednesday afternoon at Harlem, but unfortunately that was the only win Rochelle could muster in a 4-1 loss on the road.

Griffith earns singles win as Rochelle boys lose 4-1

MACHESNEY PARK —Hub senior tennis standout Noah Griffith rolled in his singles match on Wednesday afternoon at Harlem, but unfortunately that was the only win Rochelle could muster in a 4-1 loss on the road.
Griffith made short order of Harlem’s Lucas Crane, winning 6-0, 6-0 in the No. 1 singles competition.

Gabe Nava was slotted into the No. 2 singles position and while he did win three games, Nava fell 6-2, 6-1 to Harlem’s Riley Cox.
Hector Garcia and Kevin Zheng teamed up for Rochelle in the No. 1 doubles slot, but the duo were defeated 6-1, 6-2 by Athipat Pinatpinyopong and Dejan Ubiparjpovic.
In No. 2 doubles Rochelle’s Jesus Nava and Chris Jones battled hard and won six games in two sets, but the pair fell 6-3, 6-3 to Harlem’s Ben Johnson and Isacc Wolf.
In a close match, Hub players Sean Flanagan and Emilio Nava lost the first set 6-4, but won the second set 6-3 before falling 10-4 in the tie-breaker.
