ROCHELLE — 18 runs was more than enough for the Hubs freshman baseball team to dispose of the Ottawa Pirates on Tuesday, but another 18-run performance wouldn’t be enough to give Rochelle its second win in two days.
Six players totaled at least two RBIs in the freshman team’s 18-4 victory over the Pirates on Tuesday, with Nolan Andersen and Ethan Etes combining to go a perfect 8-for-8 at the plate with five RBIs. Andersen added four more RBIs on Wednesday, while Nick Albers and Charlie Jandak each recorded two RBIs in a 21-18 loss to Ottawa.
The Hubs move to 3-2 on the season with the win and the loss.
