It was my privilege to again attend the From the Heart in Rochelle Saturday night. I have been attending this event regularly since its inception and every year I am inspired by the phenomenal job these volunteers, led by Dave Eckhardt, do in planning, organizing and executing this event.
Equally inspiring is the generosity of the attendees. The event raised approximately $50,000 this year for Ogle County organizations including Hub City Senior Center, CASA, Focus House, Rochelle Child Care Center, Rochelle Christian Food Pantry, Rochelle Area Community Foundation, Shining Star Children’s Advocacy Center and Hope of Ogle County. Having served on the boards of two of these entities over the years I am familiar with the real difference that these funds make to the hard-working staff of these organizations and the people that they serve.
I am particularly able to see the significance of this in event in my role as Ogle County State’s Attorney. CASA, Focus House, Shining Star Children’s Advocacy Center and Hope of Ogle County have a direct positive impact on the criminal and juvenile justice systems in Ogle County. Donations to these organizations not only help individuals, but also make our community a safer place to live.
I look forward to attending From the Heart again next year and would encourage everyone to consider lending their support to this worthy cause.
Very truly yours,
