ROCHELLE — Ivan G. Sexton, 88, passed away on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at his home with his family at his side.
Ivan was born on April 11, 1932 to Denver and Lena (Johnson) Sexton in Greeneville, Tennessee. On Nov. 19, 1983, he married Emma Jean (Montgomery) McCulloch in Rochelle. He worked for Spaulding Composites, Inc. in DeKalb for many years. In addition to his parents, Ivan is preceded in death by two siblings.
Ivan is survived by his wife, Emma, of Rochelle; four children, Danny Sexton of Rochelle, Karan (Roger) Jones of DeKalb, Paulette Sexton and Shawn Sexton, both of Rockford; three step-children, Mike (Laurie) McCulloch of Rochelle, Sandra (John) Gevers of Kansas City, Mo. and Cheryl (Kevin) Barringer of Oregon; three siblings, Tommy (Jeanne) Sexton, Alvin (Lois) Sexton and Rosie (Clem) Stills, all of Greeneville, Tenn.; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m., Saturday, April 3, 2021 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with Pastor Duane Boehm officiating. Burial is at Lawnridge Cemetery in Rochelle.
Memorials may be made in Ivan’s memory to the Serenity Hospice and Home.
