ASHTON — Jackie R. Krigbaum, 80, of Ashton, passed away Saturday, April 29 at Pinecrest Community Center in Mt. Morris. He was born July 26, 1936 in Poplar Bluff, Mo. He was the son of A. B. and Zetta (Meyer) Krigbaum.
Survivors include his children, Jackie Jr. (Kim) Krigbaum of German Valley and Karmen (Merl) Sage of Franklin Grove; 11 grandchildren; Shannon Hinrichs; Ethan, Troy, Broc, Tassie, Cora, Conrad, Heinrich and Hattie Krigbaum, Steven and Garrett Sage; and four great grandchildren; Hunter, Hannah, Hallie and Hazel Hinrichs. He is also survived by three sisters; Judy Booth, Sycamore; Pam (Jim) Fenwick, Roscoe and Sherry (Ray) Quinn of New York.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty in September 2014; daughter, Sheila Hinrichs, his parents; brothers Paul and Bob; sisters Shirley Johnson and Glenna Robertson.
He married Betty A. Atkinson on Nov. 24, 1960 and they celebrated almost 54 years together before her passing. Jackie worked for Del Monte in Rochelle for more than 20 years and at the Ashton High School for 15 years. Jackie also served in the U.S. Army.
Funeral services will be held at noon on Saturday, May 6 at Beverage Lyons Funeral Home, 601 Richardson Ave., Ashton. Visitation will be from 4 – 6 p.m. on Friday, May 5 at Beverage Lyons Funeral Home in Ashton and from 11 a.m. on Saturday until the time of services.
