ROCHELLE — Janice S. Kennedy, 72, passed away Sunday, May 21, 2017 at her home with her family by her side.  Janice was born Dec. 19, 1944 to Floyd and Mildred (Hubbs) Hartline in Anna, Ill. She married Ferrell Kennedy on Dec. 23, 1973 in Ottawa.
She was preceded in death by her son, Robert Ranken; grandson, Matthew Ranken; brother, Floyd Hartline Jr.; sister-in-law, Mary Applegate; brother-in-law, Clyde Donley; nephew, Christopher Donley and two nieces, Tammi Griebel and Sherry Guydon.
A loving wife, mom, and gramma to many, who’s love was captured in the pictures she took. Her world was perfect when surrounded by family, enjoying her home and flower gardens. She touched many and will remain living forever in the memories she gave and cherished in our hearts. 
Janice is survived by her husband, Ferrell, of Rochelle; nine children, Deanne (Brian) Rogers of Dodge City, Kan., Donna (Terry) Johnson of Ashton, Dana (Joe) Williams of Junction City, Kan., Larry (Tonda) Ranken of Sycamore, Kathryn (Rick) Tyner of Rochelle, Cynthia Oleson of DeKalb, Carolyn (John) Schindewolf of Rochelle, John (Barb) Kennedy of Rochelle and Tyanne Kennedy-Etes of Rochelle; three brothers, Jimmy Hartline, Ronald (Patricia) Hartline and Randy (Phyllis) Hartline; six sisters-in-law, Phyllis (Mike) Killion, Lou Donley, Faye (Erbie) Yant, Judy (“Buddy”) Lake, Joanne (John) Kennedy and Adele (Max) Kennedy; 33 grandchildren, Timothy and Terry Jennings, Kyle and Melissa Burger, Brian Jr. and Emmalea Rogers, Megan Petrick, Jacob Gomez, Kevin Quick, Dereck, Michael, Jackson and Nicholas Williams, Nicholas and Christopher Weber, Aaron Ranken, Farrah and Dwayne Hicks, Hayley and Jeremy Oleson, Michael and Carisa Crouch, Bryant and Jonathon Burnette, Nicolette and Christopher Schindewolf, Alex Kennedy, Damon Terronez, Danielle Mabini, Crista Herebia, Michael Kennedy and Jeremy II and Tyler Etes; multiple great-grandchildren and special friends, Phyllis (Mike) Killion, Gene (James) Bilderback, Billie (Charles) Osbourne and Blaine (Brenda) Hicks.
The visitation will be from 9 to 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 25 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. Sixth Street, Rochelle.  The funeral will follow the visitation at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home with Billie Heier officiating and special speaker Tim Jennings. Burial is at Lawnridge Cemetery.
