ROCHELLE — A longtime Rochelle auto dealership has a new owner, after Jeff Perry officially purchased Sawicki Motors on May 1.
Perry, who has owned a dealership in Peru for the past 13 years, took over the Rochelle operation on Wednesday. He has spent most of his career in the automobile business and has been involved with all facets of the industry.
“I worked for the Peru dealership for 15 years in service, sales and as a general manager before I bought it,” Perry said on Friday. “I am very excited to be here in Rochelle and look forward to serving the area communities.”
Perry said that Mike Myers will continue on as general manager of the Rochelle location with the rest of the current staff remaining fully intact.
“This staff has a great relationship with the community and it’s important to keep that continuity in place,” Perry added. “What I plan to do is take the strengths of both locations to help each operation thrive.”
Perry said he will continue to carry all the brands and models currently available at the Rochelle location, including Chevrolet, Buick, Cadillac, Chrysler and Jeep. The past few days he has transferred many vehicles from Peru to the Rochelle lot with the expectation of bolstering inventory and sales in the market.
Myers said he looks forward to working with Perry and appreciates his background in the business.
“Coming from a small-town market, Jeff knows what it takes to meet the needs of our customers in the Rochelle area,” Myers said.
Located at 1260 N. 7th St. in Rochelle, the sales hours at Jeff Perry in Rochelle will be Monday-Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
