ROCHELLE – Rochelle will be hosting its second annual Jen’s Walk Against Domestic Violence Saturday, Oct. 12.
The walk was created in memory of Jennifer Underhill, a Rochelle resident who lost her life to domestic violence in 2018. The walk itself will be a 3K, but there will also be other activities at the event including a silent auction, bake sale and pumpkin decorating for the kids. There will also be hot dogs, chips, punch, hot chocolate and coffee being served.
All profits from the event will be donated to HOPE of Ogle County — the local domestic violence service agency and shelter that serves Ogle County and Northeast Lee County. The cost to register is $20 and can be done by stopping in to the Teen Town Rec Center located at 101 8th Avenue in Rochelle anytime between now and the day of the event. T-shirts and hoodies will also be available for purchase at the time of registration in a variety of both adult and youth sizes.
