Las Vegas, Nev. – Jerry L Bumphrey, 77, died Sunday, May 28, 2017 at 3:30 p.m. at the Southern Hills Hospital in Las Vegas, Nev., from cancer.
He was a retired Registered Pharmacist and owner of Barker Drugs in Rochelle for over 30 years.
He was born June 24, 1939 in Neponset to Dorothy and William Bumphrey.
He was married to Christel Bumphrey in 1964 for the last 53 years.
He received his Pharmacy degree from the St. Louis College of Pharmacy in 1974.
Jerry served four years in the U.S. Navy and an additional two years as a Reservist.
He leaves behind his wife of 53 years, Christel Bumphrey; his son, William; his son, John and wife Susan; his granddaughter, Aviana; his sisters, Doris, Alice, Mary Jane and Kathryn; and many nieces, nephews and close friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother Dorothy, his father William, his sister Marge and his brothers Jack and Bill, and his mother-in-law Evelyn Levesque.
A memorial service will be held in his honor on Saturday, June 10 at 11 a.m. at the Tampico Baptist Church, 209 W 3rd St, Tampico.
His final resting place will be in the First Parish Cemetery in York, Maine.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Wounded Warriors Project in Jerry’s name would be greatly appreciated by him and his family.
