Jill Adolph

ROCHELLE — Jill Adolph, 65, of Rochelle and formerly of the Chadwick/Milledgeville area, passed away on March 10 at Serenity Home in Oregon surrounded by family after a battle with anaplastic thyroid cancer. She was born on April 23, 1957 the daughter of Dwight and Doris Silvius.
She graduated from Milledgeville High School in 1975 and Freeport School of Nursing in 1978. Jill was a nurse at the Morrison Community Hospital from 1978-1986 and a nurse and administrator at CGH clinics in Sterling from 1986-2022. She ended her career teaching future nurses at the Whiteside Area Career Center. In all her roles, she embodied positivity, compassion and empathy.
She married the love of her life, Jeff, on Nov. 4, 1978. Together they created a family that her world revolved around.
Jill was a caretaker in every sense of the word and was a person that so many in her life depended on and loved. She loved traveling, gardening, and creating traditions with her beloved grandchildren that they’ll remember and cherish for a lifetime. She had a zest for life, a loving and outgoing personality, and contagious optimism.
She is preceded in death by her father, Dwight, her mother, Doris, and her sister, Peggy. She is survived by her husband, Jeff of Rochelle, sons Jason (Danielle) of Shorewood and Justin (Anna) of Rochelle, grandchildren Landon (9), Campbell (9), Eliana (7), Bryce (7), and Theo (3), and her brother, Paul Silvius.
She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established. Donations can be made via the McDonald Funeral Home website or in person at her celebration of life ceremony. The memorial will benefit Serenity Hospice and Home of Oregon and Special Olympics Illinois.
A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held at the McCormick Event Center 205 E. 3rd St. Rock Falls, IL on Sunday, March 19 from 1-5 p.m.
