Joan is preceded in death by her husband Edwin A. Lohrmann and her parents Ernest and Virginia Weishaar. Joan had a wonderful life. Joan studied one year at Northern Illinois University before marrying Edwin on May 4, 1951. She was a practiced artist creating over 200 works of art; the family seamstress making most of her daughters’ clothes; accomplished hostess; avid gardener; designer of two homes with an eye for interior design; loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Although a self-declared “country girl,” Joan experienced living in over 12 different places—from small to large—including Lee, IL; DeKalb, IL; Rantoul, IL; Denver, CO; Rochelle, IL; Crystal City, TX; Walnut Creek, CA; Hendersonville, NC; Naples, FL; Aurora, IL; Naperville, IL; and the Philippines. A natural “thinker” about the many puzzles of life, Joan believes with great conviction that Jesus Christ is her Savior and without doubt that “God is in charge.”
