Jonathan “Jack” Burr

ROCHELLE — Jonathan “Jack” E. Burr, 65, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, July 15, 2017 at the Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield.  Jack was born Nov. 7, 1951 to Albert and Metta (Switzer) Burr in Woodstock.
He proudly served with the United States Marine Corp. during the Vietnam War. Jack married Marjorie Jean Peffer on June 16, 1979 in Batavia. They were happily married until her death on Aug. 18, 2015.
He was a self-employed mechanic who was heavily involved in the community as well as his church. Jack and Margie partnered together on many projects centered around their love of music and church ministry.
Jack is survived by his three children, Daniel Burr of Darien, Mariah Burr of Aurora, and Sarah Schlosser of Dixon; and five grandchildren, Hannah, Todd and Gregory Schlosser and Alexa and Madeline Burr.  He is also survived by his brother, Jeffrey Burr, and two sisters, Jill Burr and Jenny Burr.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Jacquelyn Burr.   
The visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 20 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle. The funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home with Pastor Tony Stella officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Jack’s memory to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.  Cremation rites will follow the service.
