ROCHELLE — Joseph J. Howard, Jr., 69, passed away Saturday, May 13, 2017 at the Rochelle Community Hospital. Joe was born on March 3, 1948 to Joseph J. and Ethel C. (Mottis) Howard in Chicago.
He served with United States Navy and worked as an auto mechanic.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Carrie Ann Kisner, and infant granddaughter, Keighla Ashli Howard.
Joe is survived by his son, Joseph J. Howard, IV of Sycamore; two daughters, Cindy (John) Opichka of Green Bay, Wis., and Autumn Nagy of Amboy; son-in-law, John Kisner of Rochelle; seven grandchildren, Leighla (Kordel Hanson) Howard, Johnny Kisner, Michael Kennedy, Chris Nagy, Shae, Brielle and Isley Opichka and two great grandchildren, Maddex and Zander Hanson.
The visitation will be held from 2 – 3 p.m. on Wednesday, May 17 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. Sixth Street, Rochelle. The funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. on Wednesday with Father Ruben Herrera officiating. Burial is at the Lawnridge Cemetery with military honors provided by the Eastern Lee-Ogle Honor Guard.
