PORT WASHINGTON, Wis. — Joyce Annette Gittleson, 82, passed away Monday, April 5, 2021 at the Harbor Club in Port Washington, Wis.
Joyce was born on Nov. 19, 1938, the seventh child of 10 to Wendell and Carrie (Harms) Furman in Steward.
She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing cards and entertaining at her home in Franklin Grove that she loved dearly. Joyce was also a member of the Franklin Grove Women’s Club.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Norman; son, Matthew; and two siblings, Reta (Mahlon) Meling and Keith (Alice Myers).
Joyce is survived by four children, Lea (John) McFarland of Frankfort, Jean (Kevin Lanser) of Port Washington, Tom (Sandy) Gittleson, Miss. and Jerry (Dawn) Gittleson of Leaf River; three sisters, Carol (Wayne) Friestad, Doris (Wayne) Hardy and Kay (Herb) Clar; four brothers, Curtis (Becky), Loren (Ruth), Wendell and Wayne (Connie). She was “Grandma Far Away” to 12 grandchildren, Kristen, Jenna, Erik, Evan, Staci, Aidan, Chris, Jordin, Serenity, Justin, Cody and Jamie; and 11 great-grandchildren, Will, Tessa, Sylas, Piper, Penelope, Mike, Lily, Doug, Alec, Jade and Oien.
There will be a memorial grave side service at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 1, at Trinity Memory Gardens Cemetery in Rochelle with Pastor Gregory Hoffmann officiating.
