Kennay Farms Distilling to brew beer to support service members
‘Hops for Heroes’ will support ongoing relief efforts of Soldiers’ Angels
ROCHELLE — Kennay Farms Distilling announced Thursday it has joined the “Hops for Heroes” campaign to support the national nonprofit Soldiers’ Angels. The annual effort enlists craft breweries of all sizes to brew its custom recipe, Homefront IPA™, to raise funds to support U.S. service members, veterans and their families.
The announcement by the sixth-generation farm and brewer of craft beer and spirits brings the 2022 Hops for Heroes campaign to nine breweries. Other breweries signed on to raise funds for Soldiers’ Angels’ national and international support programs include Founders Brewing Co. (Grand Rapids, Michigan), Center of the Universe Brewing (Ashland, Virginia), Karbach Brewing (Houston, Texas) and Left Hand Brewing Co. (Longmont, Colorado).
“Soldiers’ Angels puts the needs of our American heroes first,” Aubrey Quinn of Kennay Farms Distilling said. “It is exactly the type of organization that Kennay Farms is proud to align ourselves with. With a long history of service men and women in our family, we are grateful we can give back to honor their service.”
“As sixth-generation farmers and supporters of their community, Kennay Farms Distilling is a perfect partner for the Hops for Heroes campaign,” Soldiers’ Angels President & CEO Amy Palmer said. “We’re thrilled that Kennay Farms Distilling has chosen to partner with us on this year’s effort to raise funds to support our deployed service men and women, their families at home and the veterans who sacrificed for our country.”
Soldiers’ Angels is a national nonprofit headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, founded in 2003 by the family of General George Patton. Through its global network of tens of thousands of volunteers, it fulfills its mission of providing aid, comfort and resources to the military, veterans, and their families through a variety of ways — from shipping care packages to deployed service members to providing food assistance to low-income and homeless veterans and more.
Kennay Farms Distilling plans to release its version of Homefront IPA in June 2022 for guests to enjoy all summer long.
All net proceeds from sales of Homefront IPA will be donated to Soldiers’ Angles to support its service programs, which provided assistance to more than 982,000 service members, veterans, wounded heroes and their families in 2021 alone.
