Kenneth "Ken" Leroy Hill

DIXON — Kenneth "Ken" Leroy Hill, 91, of Dixon, passed away on, Monday, May 30 at Serenity Hospice & Home in Oregon. He was a lifetime farmer and retired at the age of 80 years old.

Ken was born April 20, 1931, in Sublette, the son of Lester A. and Maude (Hoyle) Hill. He married JoAnne Warner on May 1, 1949, in Dixon. She preceded him in death on March 30, 2012. Ken was on the Dixon Board of Education from 1970 to 1972, and also a YMCA Board member. Ken built a pool in 1954 at his home; the YMCA used the family pool prior to their opening. Ken also volunteered his time with the Dixon Boosters Club. He ran a coffee club from the Hill Farm where all the neighbors would gather every morning for 30 years. Ken cherished hosting an annual coffee and holiday party at Hill Farms. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his two sons, Brad (Renee) Hill of Dixon, Thomas Hill of Kalispell, Montana; daughter, Geri Anne (David) Evett of Leesburg, Florida; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. 

Ken was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Lester A. Hill.

A public celebration of his life will be at 1:30 p.m. until the last to leave on Friday, June 3 at the Hill Farm in Dixon. Private burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Dixon, with the Pastor Joy Alsup and Retired Pastor David Nelson, co-officiating.
