MALTA — The Kishwaukee College Nursing Program held an induction ceremony for the Alpha Delta Nu (ADN) Nursing Honor Society on Wednesday, May 17, on campus. Twelve second-year nursing students were inducted as new members of ADN. Patricia Mitchell and June Callahan are the Faculty Advisors to the Kishwaukee College chapter.
ADN is the official honor society of the National Organization for Associate Degree Nursing. Kishwaukee College is home to one of the 85 chapters nationwide. To be eligible for admission to ADN, nursing students must have completed two semesters of Nursing program coursework with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0, have a minimum 87% (B) average in all nursing courses and complete a leadership project. The Spring 2017 induction class’ leadership project to increase awareness of nursing as a career through local outreach activities to area high schools.
The induction ceremony at Kishwaukee College included welcoming remarks by Bette Chilton, Dean of Health and Education, at Kishwaukee College. Representing the new inductees was student speaker and ADN President Anna Hartnett.
