Kish offering tuition free high school equivalency classes this spring

MALTA — The adult education program at Kishwaukee College is offering tuition-free High School Equivalency (HSE/GED) classes and a Citizenship class this spring.
Registration for these classes is required. Interested people can register at the College and at locations throughout the community.
Learners should schedule at least 3 hours for registration, orientation and placement testing. Childcare will not be provided at registration locations. Classes begin in early March.
High School Equivalency (HSE/GED) classes prepare students to take the GED. Subject areas covered in these classes include reading, writing, social studies, science, math, and the U.S. Constitution. The classes are 8-weeks long and offered twice a semester. Classes can be taken at various locations throughout the community including at the college, Westminster Presbyterian Church in DeKalb and Sycamore High School.
Kish is also offering a Citizenship class for people interested in learning about the U.S. Citizenship process. Relevant information for the U.S. Citizenship test, basic interviewing, test-tasking skills, and English vocabulary and grammar will be covered, among other topics. Students will need to be 18 years of age or older and score into placement. This class will be offered March through May.
Registration dates at Kishwaukee College (21193 Malta Rd., Malta, IL) are:

Feb. 27 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
March 2 from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Registration dates at Westminster Presbyterian Church (830 N. Annie Glidden Rd., DeKalb) are:
Feb. 25 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Feb. 26 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Registration dates at Sycamore High School (555 Spartan Trail, Sycamore) are:
Feb. 26 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Feb. 27 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
